New Turf - No Tires.
Created: July 01, 2007
The PPA playground has been completely resurfaced with a more "sneaker-friendly" flooring. In the past, the playground had a covering consisting of small black rubber pieces.
While safe and effective, the little pieces regularly found their way into the children's sneakers.

The PPA administration decided to invest in one of the most state-of-the-art surfaces for the playground. It's artificial turf! You have to see it to believe it. It looks and feels just like real grass. It is extremely safe and durable, but most of all, it adds the look and feel of a well groomed park. The kids love it too.
Please take a minute and look at the beautiful new playground.

It's Been a Great Summer at Promise Land Camp
Letter Sent: August 11, 2006
It has been such a wonderful summer; and you have been such wonderful parents. These memories will be with us long into the school year and hopefully even longer in our hearts. We had so much fun! When asked, "What was your favorite part of the summer?" the majority of our campers shouted, "The Bounce House!" It's more like the 'bounce CENTER'!
Our two new additions this year were the highlight of every Friday. Of course we will not soon forget our Pony Pal Day, Luau, or any of the parades, the Petting Zoo, or LollyPop the Clown. However, the most memorable event of all was our Cinderella Ball! We were graced by a bevy of Princesses and a host of Princes; what a delight!
So, what's next? Next week, as we wind down, we start off...
MONDAY: We mover to our new rooms, and we will be collecting our books for the Big Book Bonanza.
*Your child can bring in any hard or soft cover book(s) that are in VERY GOOD to NEARLY NEW condition.
*They will receive a ticket for each oft cover and two for each hardcover book they bring in.
*On Wednesday, when we have the Big Book Bonanza, they will be able to 'purchase' books with their tickets.
*Please do not bring the books to the office. I will come around to each class and collect the books and give the tickets to their teacher.
TUESDAY: The children will be settling into their rooms and getting to know their teachers.
WEDNESDAY: The Big Book Bonanza!
All of our collected books will be arranged bookstore - style. The children will come one class at a time to make their 'purchases' that they will take home with them. Whatever is left over will be donated to the teachers. (Adult CHRISTIAN - only - books will also be appreciated.
THURSDAY: Today we will be visited by the Librarian of the Tamarac Branch of the Broward County Library. Your child will be read to and be given an application for: their very own library card. Reading is FUNdamental.
FRIDAY: *End of the Summer Mini-Carnival in the morning.
*Lunch Menu: Pizza, Applesauce and Chips
*3:00pm Parents are welcome to come early to pick up your camper and enjoy refreshments and a last day surprise!

Vacation / Illness Credit
Letter Sent: July 10, 2006
Please be advised that Vacation/Illness Credit weeks will be increasing to $75.00 commencing the week of Monday, July 24, 2006.
The following is a list of important information regarding these credit weeks:
1. Each family is given 3 vacation or illness weeks per calendar year.
2. These credits must be used in full-week increments Monday – Friday.
3. We do not credit partial – week absences.
4. These credit weeks are NOT automatically credited to your account. You must inform the office of your intention to use a particular week as a vacation/illness week. We will then inform you how many weeks you have remaining for the year.
5. If you have used all 3 of your vacation/illness weeks, you must pay your regular tuition if you will be keeping your child(ren) home for any reason.
6. Vacation/Illness weeks do not roll over. If you do not use all 3 of these weeks from January 1 – December 31, you will lose those weeks. However, 3 more weeks are generated every January 1st.
7. We do not permit “borrowing” from the next year’s vacation credits.
8. Remember that tuition is due each Friday by 9 am. Therefore, please make arrangements to pay all fees before your absence.
9. Also, all new families entering the school will receive their 3 weeks after 3 months of continuous enrollment.
Please take these next few weeks to prepare for this necessary increase.
Thank you.

New Keypad Policy: Increase Safety, Decrease Paper
Letter Sent: July 6, 2006
We will soon be updating our sign-in & sign-out procedures! We continue our commitment to make your childcare experience efficient and technically advanced!
You have probably noticed the 2 colorful number key terminals at the reception counter. Shortly, we will be removing the blue Sign In/Out Papers. We will be assigning PIN numbers to each child and family for access. You will use that PIN to sign your child in and out throughout the day. (Mom will have a separate PIN from Dad, etc. That way, we will know who picked up and dropped off your child which day and time.)
We will still use our normal procedure of requiring photo identification with unrecognized individuals. This new system will not affect the way we screen authorized pick up members.
These colorful number terminals will also be used by the staff to clock in and out throughout the day. There will be 2 colorful number key terminals mounted on the reception counter. It will not matter which terminal you use.
In the next few days, we will be sending out more detailed information regarding this exciting change.
